Carmina Balmoral on the Robert Last. Hoping to get something similar going here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/277505/epaulet-x-carmina-mto-group-buy-for-spring-2012/40_20#post_5009913

^ I would be happy to be part of a group order for this boot. Is the color a lighter version of Cigar/ a true brown? If there is enough interest, please keep me posted.

Update on the AE shell drama (see Pages 19-21 on this thread): I just spoke to someone at SA and they said they would honor the $250 price for the Bradley cordovan, even though it was an error. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

rmspawn, if the shoes does not fit me, and if you are a 9D, let me know if you want dibs at that price (plus shipping) since it was your suggestion that led to my recovering my order number in the first place.

So, hoping for a cordovan

350

for $250 in a few weeks.

That is very generous of them. In my opinion, if something on their website was posted in error like that, they shouldn't be obligated to honor the incorrect price.

Still! Post pics when you receive. Curious to see the AE burgundy color fresh out of the box.

I'm glad they decided to make good on the sale. As far as your offer goes, thank you very much. I am a true size 9D but I wear an 8.5D or E for some lasts. If you happen to have the same sizing issue, please let me know and we'll go from there. I do hope that these fit you well as it is an excellent deal regardless of the craziness of the order.

i've been looking for cordovan shell boots and it seems that the Lindrick, Peal BB, and those Carmina boots up there are the top tier (non bespoke) cordovan boots out there. Are there any other cordovan shell boots with comparable (or even better) quality than those? I don't know if this is a very broad or subjective question but i just want to start off my collection of nice shoes on the right foot (no pun intended). thanks guys!

Also consider Alden's offerings, as special makeups or through some of the big retailers, like j. Crew. Or the shoe mart.  I just got a pair of the cordovan cap-toe in #8 from j. Crew and they are great.  Plan to check out the black shell wingtip soon.

Also, rider boots.

More like 3rd tier.

It looks like there will be another Spanish source for shell next year, Meermin of Mallorca, which seems to be a slightly lower-end branch of the Carmina family.

Here's the 1 shell offering on their tumblr site:

http://meermin.tumblr.com/post/10701914351/a-medida-longwing-brogue-cordovan-negro-ante

In email from Pepe Albaladejo, he tells me that " 'Linea Maestro' Shell Cordovan pairs are priced at the moment at 290€ (Hand lasted and handmade goodyear welted)." That price includes %18 VAT. Shipping to the US will be 40Eur.

I can't say anything about the quality of the shoes, but some of them are very attractive, and the price for shell cordovan is incredible.
