Please get some proper length pants. I don't know if you're striving for a Thom Browne-esque getup but it just looks affected. Cardigan + vest = affected. *******, the whole thing looks affected. You've obviously got some nice pieces. Stop layering so much **** on and just dress simply. Check Stanley Or Gnatty the past few pages.

It looks more like he is just wearing his older, but shorter, brother's seconds. If he's going for the TB or Italian dandy look it doesn't seem to be very close at all. There's a fine line and he's so far over he can't even see it anymore

+2. Try to do what El Argentino did. Once you can do that successfully, then try the gadgets. For example- lose the matched tie/socks; buy khaki colored socks; wear them with khaki pants of the right length.

Not that this is the beat on Liam thread, but you do keep putting up the fits.

Based on that thread for newbs I'm trying to do the whole harmony thing. I figured its liable to be warm out tomorrow afternoon by the time I get to work, but it'll be effing freezing when I leave the house at 630, so I figured I'd try to build a layered ensemble on the whole principle of harmony, that makes sense on each level, and I think I avoided the whole pattern bingo thing this time, its far from perfect, but this is the only one I'll be posting or wearing. There's a grey knit cap going on over my rats nest hair, I just didn't feel like digging it out.
I'm a little unsure of the shoes, too. I'm not sure if they're too washed out, may go with the dark brown strands if the consensus is that they'd look better. please let me know.

belt is still ugly

why are you wearing a cardigan over a heavy vest?

only leave one vest button undone

tie clashes with the casual vibe

shoes ugly (are they a clarks knock off?) and are too close in shade to the pants

try to take your photos without flash and in natural light

That's a nice shade of khaki, Liam. What brand?

Banana republic. This is a result of a lot of wash and wear they were practically yellow when I bought them.

1) they're not quite as short as they look, about half of that is my hands in my pockets, and I usually am wearing desert boots that cut off higher. I started wearing my pants shorter because I got sick of my shoes catching on them.

2) cardigan and vest is a no-no? I see that so often up here I figured it was normal. thanks for the heads up. I'll probably keep layering though, I'm always effing freezing.

Thats why i put them up ;)

knit wool tie =/= casual?

shoes are real clarks, and I was worried about the color. thank you.

can't do natural light. I'm only ever home before about 7am, when there is no real light during the winter, or after 11.

revised. sorry for pic quality but the missus has the camera today.

same shirt and cardigan, swapped out the short chinos for a pair of longer cords, desert kahns for desert boots. lost the tie, but I refuse to change my socks.

hat will be coming off as soon as my hair is laying down flat.

some of Liam O's fits look similar to stuff I was wearing 2-4 years ago
Evidence suggests you are both still wearing your strides ridiculously short. Peewee Herman was a cartoonish character on a kids' TV show, not someone to be emulated in real life.

Yeah - for a vest, only bottom button is left undone.

I wouldn't agree with this at all. There is no reason a person should not leave as many buttons unfastened as they want provided it does not look ridiculous. Below is a vest, and in my opinion, it looks perfectly acceptable with two buttons undone. I didn't get a ticket from the fashion police if that is any indication.
