I love the jacket, pants and kicks. PS and shirt aren't working with each other or the jacket. Personally I'm not a fan of the polo/SC look, but in this case I don't like the blues so close in color. The PS should be colorful with this fit, and perhaps a different material (it looks like silk), as it appears more formal than the rest. This is a nice casual look, but the palette needs a lift. Fit of the items looks great though.

I agree with most of this but want to jump in on the general SF hate for polo-with-a-sport-coat that you mention. I think a worsted suity jacket with a shiny polyester golf polo is a baaad look and screams of Friday dress down day for an office nerd / middle manager on his way to the golf club for happy hour. In the workplace as a business casual outfit this rarely if ever works.

But accepting your objection to the two navies fighting each other with the PS as referee, I still have to say that when the polo-with-a-sport coat is done like this, in a totally non-office / business setting, I think it works well. Slim fitting trendy cut coat, relaxed and louchey polo, slim fitting chinos (definitely not Internet geek Best Buy Guy style) and vintage canvas sneaks make this a nice sporty looking after work / weekend outfit. I'm pretty sure I've done something similar and would definitely try it again. Well done Bigwig.

Black belt with brown shoes..?

Doesn't look black to me, just very dark brown.

Even if it isn't, constrast looks too drastic IMO. Might just be picture. Good otherwise though.

Thanks guys for your opinions, I appreciate it. Why I used dark polo shirt instead of one in bold color. I don't like a colorful pop of color with rest in neutral-ish like navy/cream. It takes 100% of attention imo, I don't like it. Even when you are fairly good dressed in overall, an observer will notice this color-pop as "damn, look at this guy pink polo shirt...oh, and he's got a jacket!" wink.gif

Too humid for a suit in NYC, and rain is expected later today, so casual it is.

BB shirt and trousers, J & M bucks

Don't typically like plain toes, but do like them on bucks.

This is all a sound rationale ... And then along comes Holdfast with exactly such an outfit and it looks really good!
