Mr David Hober definitely knows how to make good ties. A good tie can be noticed from a mile away. Especially one made by David. He gives care to every detail and can give life to things that are dead by other craftsmen. Like his tipping is full of life, only matched by the best tie makers in Italy. I wish him the best of luck in the business.
I have been training in the craft of making menswear of a while now and David's craftsmanship has been a great deal of inspiration for me. I hope to open a business in the big world of men's bespoke clothing and I would like to thank David. Without his great craftsmanship I would have been lacking the inspiration to go through the training i have been going through.

What construction options are people choosing for grenadine ties (fina or grossa)? Are grenadines supposed to be tipped?Originally Posted by nhannon

Last month, ordered 4 or 5 (mixture of finas and grossas) untipped 6 folds.

Although David already replied, I thought I'd add that I recently arranged for delivery to the Bangkok hotel where I was staying and had no problem with delivery.

Haven't/hadn't considered that. I only asked whether rolled edges were possible with the fabric, because I wanted those. Other than that, I didn't think about the construction, I just wanted a good one for the grenadine. A 3-fold would have been fine, but David said a 4-fold would be a bit stronger/better, so I went for that.

Normally, untipped ties have the interlining end slightly above the tipping area in a straight line - we did something interesting with your tie. We made sort of an upside down V with the wool interlining for a perfect fit.
It is a bit hard to describe with words so I took a photo and will try to post it tomorrow.
That sounds great, David. And I even think I know what you mean (non-tie expert that I am). Looking forward to seeing the photo, and more importantly: receiving and wearing the tie!

I received 3 more ties from David today. A navy grenadine fina silk, a greenish gold grenadine fina silk, and an Atkinson striped poplin #46. I received 5 from him last week. Beautiful ties all of them. I have nine more that are in various stages of production/shipping, bringing my Hober total to 61, and three more in the cart trying to decide to pull the trigger on them.
I have a bad addiction and must stop. Does anyone know where I can go for tie rehab?
