Any advice on the Rain last fit, as compared to Uetam?

Has anyone sized down (i.e. 1/2 size) in the Rain?

I am a size 7UK in Uetam, and I am thinking of sizing down 1/2 size to a 6.5 in Rain for a snug fit...

I'm the same size in both.

How does the Robert last fit? Research seems to say Barrie = Robert size. Any other comparisons? Also, if Barrie = Robert, does that mean 8US in Barrie = 8UK for Robert? That may seem like a dumb question because US to UK conversion charts say to size down 0.5 from US size to get your UK size. I simply want to confirm before I have shoes shipped from Sweden. Thank-you very much. I did try to research before posting here to save the post.

From the Official Carmina Sizing Thread:

Quote:

So 7.5UK is most likely your Robert Size.

Rain fits me well in a UK 8.5 in most models.  Even sizing up to 9, Uetam still feels too narrow.  Not as narrow as Simpson, but narrow enough that I wouldn't make the purchase.

Roger do you have any experience with the Robert, Forest or Soeller lasts?

I have shoes in the Robert and Forest lasts. I find them to fit pretty similar, with the forest last being a touch roomier in the forefoot. The Robert last has more of a sleeker rounded toe. I take the same size in both.

Robert is definitely a bit more forgiving then the Simpson, and Forest is a bit more forgiving then the Robert.

Keep in mind I am assuming that you are a standard width foot. If you have a wide foot I'd go with the Forest last in a wide width.

I don't have any shoes on the Soller last unfortunately. From what I gather on this forum, almost everybody goes a half size down from other Carmina lasts.

Hope this helps.

I take the same UK 8.5 in Solder as in Rain, and a UK 9 in both Robert and Forest in standard width.

I do have a UK 8.5 on order in Forest in a wide fitting and am keen to see how it works out.

Tnx. Your foot is wide fore foot and medium arch, correct? I am quite keen to hear how the wide fitting forest works. I have thought about that option as well.

No one has been able to help me with this over on the Meermin thread, so I'm going to see if I can get some help here:

I'm a 10 uk in Rain and 10.5 in Simpson. Anyone know what size I'd be in Meermin Olfe, Ama, and New Ray lasts?

Yes to all of that, plus an instep that is on the high side.

Tnx. I know you will post your thoughts on the new shoes when you get them. I will be waiting to know.

You would be a half size smaller in olfe compared to Simpson. I wears 7uk in Simpson and 6.5 in Olfe.

Hope this helps......
