A short report from our Carmina factory visit.

There are quite a few new models that has been designed by Carmina, especially boots. Most are variations of the popular 80092 Balmoral boots. Some have a triple stitch instead of two on the caps and Balmoral edge, some have an austerity brogue instead of the normal plain cap toe or punched cap. So, nothing revolutionary.

For our spring order we have some very nice things arriving. We’ll stock a braided loafer in chestnut kangaroo. Kangaroo is thin and durable and will be perfect for a summer loafer.

We’ll also stock our popular string loafer in snuff doeskin. Doeskin is very supple and soft, but just like the kangaroo it sometimes suffer some small natural defects, but this is all part of the charm for these kinds of hides.

Another nice addition will be a modified version of our specially designed 80374 Adelaide model. The Adelaide will be in Espresso Crocodile and the rest of the upper in Espresso Calf.

Of course, there will be other news as well for spring, like a brand new saddle shoe in Navy and Hatch Grain. We'll also introduce a new suede color called Tobacco that is a little darker and more reddish in hue compared to snuff. Keep tuned for more info on this on our web page and affiliate thread.

I'm pretty sure that I remember reading a while back that Carmina only make boots (well, balmoral-style boots, at least) on the Forest and Robert lasts, and nothing else.

It would, however, be wonderful if they did a boot on the Rain last, as it fits me very well.

They make boots on Rain. I can probably ask them to make a wingtip boot on Rain, Betty likes me. :) I dunno if it's my boyish charms or the fact that we passed the 1K pair mark a few months ago.

Do you have this boot in stock, or do we need to do an MTO? I'd be in for an MTO for this boot.

the rain last is a sharp looking last. i love the juxtaposition of a smart, chiseled toe with an open lace boot
