anyone know what shipping carrier carmine uses, how are returns handled, do they provide a shipping label back?

DHL. There is no return form or anything in the box.

I got charged of CAN$95 on duty/tax. They put cost of shoes and shipping together on the declaration form so our beloved Custom charged me based on the total, which is EUR302.

I believe this is the correct way to do it - the shipping is included in the custom charge.

Where I live it's even worse - ((item + shipping) x customs charges) x GST. I.e. they add GST on the total of the customs charges, which is already the total of the item + shipping + insurance.

My boots were delivered by DHL, and I paid no customs. The package was marked as "two horsehide."

Just thought I'd mention...

I recently went through the process of placing an MTO order with both Carmina and Meermin. The shoes are probably about 10 weeks away (so no pics to share), but if anyone has questions about navigating through the process, definitely let me know.
