they were made for soldiers who do sports inside a "turnhalle" or "sporthalle" it can be called gymnasium in english, but it is not a fitness club

the gats that i had did not have this "bump" on the insole

i do not think so; the ones zeemon sells were not made for the outside - these are plimsoles made for the inside. The other ones were blue.

Do any of you run in GATs? What are GATs originally intended for, more like conditioning exercise as opposed to running?
(I'm on the road a lot and need to work out and don't want to bring too many shoes.)


I wouldn't recommend them for actual sports, especially not running. Lifting, maybe.

Does anyone know if these are made in wide widths? I would think so considering theyre military shoes.

Due these fit true to size? I'm trying to figure out which size would work for me. For comparison I'm a 8.5 in Clarks DBs.

Don't get me wrong, because I still wear mine as my bad weather shoes, but they are nothing special and never were. I have had 2 pairs of these and won't buy more.
