Little, if any, real world difference. If you are working with large spreadsheets I would recommend you spend the money on getting 8GB RAM (if that is an option).

Not an option, unfortunately in this little thing.

Can't carry a second battery must be physically opened with a screwdriver to change this battery down the road. 256GB max storage space won't even cover my textbooks, external dvd, etc etc.

The newer netbooks with Atom 2 or whatever out perform, out price, out everything. Some of them are just as ruggedly built too and equally or more thin.

good luck with that, the ram is soldered directly to the board and can't be upgraded ever i wonder if they considered that ram can go bad... probably don't care since the buyers will just get the next macbook air

256 GB won't cover textbooks and external DVD?

Wtf textbooks do you need? The manual for the Large Hadron Collider?

External DVD needs internal storage?

It would have made sense if you said your mp3s and divx files needed the space...but even that's like over 50 movies on your computer already.

256 GB for a mobile laptop is all you ever need.
