Barneys Warehouse Sale...

... anybody going? Starts tomorrow at 8am.

I did a poll that showed 50% aren't going at all and ~50% show up late in the sale (BWS poll ).

I didn't buy anything last year but I regret not picking up a Thom Brown corduroy blazer mid-sale.

Is the line worth the wait? I've never been to a Barney's sale before. However, all the other sample and warehouse sales I've gone too...the line...my God, it was like waiting for a roller coaster. I heard from folks who went that there were no additional mark downs. It was just a collection of all the unsold stuff from the sales racks from various Barney's.

This is pretty much the only reason to go for the first week. For further mark downs, you'd have to wait later.

I'm in town and I'm not going

May try it on the 2nd day, but mostly because I am helping my brother buy a staple suit.

Last sale we tried to find one after one week, and they were all gone.

Final day is good if you want to buy a few funky accessories.

Past experience tells me to wait a few more days, but i'm only a few blocks away and am curious about possibly scoring some RLBL.

I was there earlier. Not that crowded. Nothing special really. I didn't pay too much attention to the denim and casual stuff. Very few shoes in 10 (my size) worth a look. A handful of C&Js Mostly their private label stuff. Lots of HF, Michael Kors and Burberry suits. Like I say, nothing special. The stuff that would interest many of us was not that discounted, eg Kiton shirts for 200+, Brioni Ties 90, Zegna ties 80, Battistoni SC at 900, pocket squares for 50.

There were some nice Isaia suits at 1000 that IMO are worth it, if you are in the market for suits.

I didn't see any real deals and frankly didn't have the patience to dig through bins of sweaters and jeans to look.

Are the items here just the left overs from the SF & LA warehouse sales or just the items from the NY store?

I ask merely out of curiosity.

This was a pretty good comment about the sale:

Ok so I went around 2pm. There was no line and inside was not very crowded.

I took a quick look through the suits. Same filler brands (Piatello, Hickey Freeman, etc.) and not much else stood out.

Wandering to the left there was a designer section with lots (30+) of Band of Outsider suits for $1000. Outside of a large section for Armani and Ralph Lauren Black Label (no suits or sportscoats to be seen), there were tiny sections for brands like Raf Simons, Margiela, Ervell, Dries, Prada and so forth.

Wandering over to the shoes I actually saw a better selection and quality than usual. Prices still high but people were tearing through this section with the most fervor.

Didn't even bother with the mounds of jeans and sweaters. Most depressing section as always at this sale.

There was a long rack of leather jackets that was next to the casual shirts. Steven Alan shirts were roughly $90 so that gives you an idea of the price points (can buy current season Steven Alan for that price using a coupon).

Walked out with nothing. I saw some nice shirts that I might return for when the price drops to around $50 or so.

I did not notice, but did not scour.
