I am feeling like I should have kept my mouth shut about what good luck I've had with UPS. The seller dropped it off at the UPS store 9:30am his time on Saturday, and while it's in the system, they've yet to spit out a delivery estimate.

If it was dropped off at a UPS Store (most of these are franchises) and not a UPS distro center, then it likely won't get scanned into the main system and updated with a delivery estimate until it's picked up by a driver later today. That's assuming it was sent Ground, which doesn't have pickup on Saturdays.

i've come to the conclusion that the reason why shipping costs so much is because it touches the hands of 42 people before arriving at your door

I watched that Tom Hanks movie where he worked for UPS. You can't let time sneak up on you!

Yup, was a UPS Store so you're no doubt correct. I just sort of expected it to be in the system by now based on various ebay purchases, etc.

Probably no need to worry... yet.

(This is the sort of useful information you acquire after selling things online for ~10 years.)

I'm just joshing' ya. Enjoy!

I actually really enjoy that it's a short scale bass. Easier to switch from guitar, especially because I don't have big hands.

Speaking of short scale basses, if anybody sees a Rickenbacker 3000 for sale, let me know.
