To me, I think RO should be worn with other RO pieces to show the edginess. May be a different choice of shoes would have worked in the above post.

This feels like 3 very distinct styles have been forced together: Rick-esque, workwear, and skateboarder. If at least 2 of the styles were in the same genre it might be passable, and if all 3 were the same it might become truly cohesive. Also, I see a lot of people on here posting stiff raw indigo denim together with fancy sneakers (CPs, GATs) and it rarely looks harmonious, only passable. Yet nobody ever criticizes it. In most cases I feel a more rugged shoe or boot would mesh far better with such rugged "working man's" looking denim.

Lotta people wearing, for example, dior raws these days. Way different vibe than sugar cane or iron heart.

True, and a totally valid point. However while raw Dior denim + stark white GATs might occasionally look ok, I've yet to see it look truly great. Reminds me of the raw denim + white CPs look that was so common a few years ago here. It always looked like a style clash in my mind and outside of this forum, I see literally nobody wearing combos like that. Look at how sq4you often pairs his fancy sneakers with gray jeans, black jeans, or jeans with interesting washes. Plain indigo denim is so strongly associated with blue collar working man's jeans, that the lux sneaker pairings are often difficult to reconcile in the audiences mind.

I don't see anything rugged or workwear about raw denim. Most people that wear denim to work don't wear colors/washes that look anything like that.

Can't really disagree with anything you're saying BB1, although I'll probably still wear patent CP's and raw jeans fairly often because I have no problem with it. Gray washes are probably the best for luxe sneaks.

I don't get it either. I never associate indigo or raw denim with workwear, I actually associate them more with hypebeast skaters (no offense to anyone). Especially the way it is worn in this forum or others, skinny fit with huge stacks, just doesn't say workwear to me.

But saying luxe sneakers (or pretty much sneakers in general, most people can't even tell if one is luxe sneakers or not) can't be worn with raw denim seems a bit absurd. It's pretty much just a regular blue denim to me really.

You see raw denim outside these forums? The once in a blue moon I ever see raw denim it's a pair of nudies on some hipster or hypebeast. If anything, I'd associate lighter, stonewashed pairs of denim with working man. Only repro cuts remind me of working class people--otherwise the generally dark color of raw jeans almost always screams fashionable or at least modern
