After re-reading my comment, and some that followed, I realized how callous it may have sounded. I didn't mean for that to be the case - I should clarify that I don't mean to discount the tragedy of what happened. I just tend to get frustrated when I see people trash an amazing opportunity so few have, and that's what he was best known for doing. It looks like he was really trying to get back on the straight-and-narrow, which, in a way, makes this even more sad.

If this thread shows anything, it's that some of y'all are massive DBs.

Who deserves to make millions? Your logic is asinine. No one deserves to play professional football especially in the NFL. A football team acquires a player to give them a better chance to win. The NFL as an entity is far more immoral than Chris Henry. What does the NFL gross? A player is a commodity in football more than any other sport. The league is ruthless and one of the most merit-based organizations I have come across. And the only reason he makes millions is because he generates 10 fold. You are spiteful because you associate worth with salary and your salary like most is comparably meager.

I know a dozen guys, most of them close friends, that have led the same lifestyle as Chris Henry minus the skill set. They are for most part products of their environment. Contrary to popular to belief, they had big hearts but just succumb to certain temptations. And yes, they are those individuals who transgress their environment and adapt well to a new one e.g. Baron Davis. However for the average person, the environment usually dictates what you will become unless their is an exceptional outside influence. Chris Henry was an extraordinary talent with the common street mentality. His association with NFL is only shines a light on the darker corners of the American landscape. Sadly, he was said to be improving his behavior and maturing.

RIP Homie and everyone else who died today.

RIP, sad especially since he was trying to straighten out

If he was trying to straighten his life out and leave the crazy antics that got him in trouble maybe jumping into a moving truck bed and banging on the back window of it while yelling and the truck being moving wasn't the best choice. I don't think dying during a domestic dispute is really tragic whatsoever, nor is it a sign you're getting your life back together. He was a solid WR though. Never was going to be a top dog WR but great at stretching the field. Bengals are really missing him this season since they don't really have a game breaker at the moment. Chad is good and all but not quite as fast/athletic anymore as Henry was
