Some nice rolls already developing. I'm jealous of these. Happy brushing!

I'm liking these too! I noticed while brushing that this shell feels more dry than others that I have. I don't have any waxes or cremes for shell, yet (saphire or VSC)

I'd be interested in hearing which creme you will go with since there are so many varying thoughts on it. I've heard mixed thoughts on VSC. Apparently that's Horween's recommendation and it brings out a real nice shine, but some think it's not good for shell. I have no experience on this. I only have the AE cordovan shoe cream, but that doesn't do much for a shine.

cincikid: According to the swatches I got from AE, cappuccino looks a lot darker than brown. Your picture suggests that this is actually not the case. I wonder if this is because cappuccino lightens up more easily?

AE describes its shell colors as follows, from dark to light:

black, burgundy, cappuccino a/k/a truffle, brown a/k/a dark brown, walnut

I think many are surprised by cappuccino a/k/a truffle being considered darker than brown a/k/a dark brown. It is not true 100% of the time.

I'm interested in this too, haha. I have no idea which to go with.

I have been weak, with this 15% off sale, I ordered a pair of Harrisons in Black Shell (everything else is standard). They are only about $25 more than the Independence Collection standard price... :) Now just got to wait for my new creations...

In the swatches I got, cappuccino is significantly darker than brown. Based on the pictures on this thread, I see that the actual milage may vary.

Anyone have any experience with the Larchmonts compared to the 5 last? From what I've read people seem to size down a half size for them. Anyone else have a similar situation? Thanks!
I wear the same size in both lasts. I've heard about people sizing down too, but I tried it, and it didn't feel right. It depends on the shape of your foot.

I sized 1/2 down to the Larchmonts. I own the Hastings in the 5 last.

Have you guys had any fit issues with the McAllister compared to the strand? Mine are noticeably wider.

I have an issue with my tap sole merlot mcallister 2nds not fitting as comfortable as my pair of walnut mcallister 1sts

however, my walnut mcallister 1sts fit pretty similar with my walnut strand 1sts .... Comfortable.

Picked up a 10.5 D pair of unclaimed/returned (???) Chili Park Avenues at the Reston, VA AE store for $240. Happy about this one, I guess it was a June/July webgem.

Since it's being talked about again, it's worth pointing out that there is no "new burgundy" or "old burgundy."

Some AE shell from years ago was that bright cherry. I have a pair of brand new Rancourts in #8 shell and they are that bright cherry. I've also seen AE shell from years ago that is a dark brown mud. This is one of the reasons why Allison has said they don't carry rare colors anymore, because people started thinking all shell of a certain shade looks the same, when they really don't.

I believe Rancourt dyes their shell cordovan themselves for both Green and Burgundy. So their bright cherry "#8" is actually unique to them

If you were to buy a pair of AE boots to wear with black dress pants, what would you buy? Hoping for something that's a little versatile.

(I have a pair of walnut daltons already)
