Would love to see AE bring this boot back...as the MTO options are pretty endless...of course minus the stay puff ankle area...

love this shoe...considering the Stone suede version for summer...also thought long and hard about MTO a pair when on sale and doing it in the Darmstadt dark brown leather(which in person is more like a chamois)

That style boot would be fun to mto.  So many possibilities...I would like one just as shown. :)

This is exactly how I feel about the 3 GMTO Eagle County boots I own:

I just got a pair of bourbon Fifth Avenues from the Shoe Bank on a fairly steep discount ($199). They look more akin to a leopard print than a bourbon. Any ideas on why this would have happened? Is it safe to assume that this cannot be easily remedied (i.e. by some cream/conditioner) and that I need to just send them back?

It really is a shame, I was so looking forward to them. Teach me to buy factory seconds...

That spottting you see is the number one reason why bourbon shoes are on the seconds list. it happens during the burnishing process. Don't think theres any way to fix it, I would have them switched for a diffferent pair.

Wow that is really bad. The burnishing might even out a bit with some reno and polish but you would lose the bourbon effect so to speak. Just send them back though.

This is why I ask that they open the box and go over the flaws a bit on the phone with me before sending them my way. My SA has been more than willing to do that for me and now knows what type of flaws I can handle and which ones would be coming right back to him.

On the flip side, that's pretty unique, almost like animal print. Keep them if you want a conversation piece smile.gif
