Still $150 sounds like a lot for used AE's, but they don't look to be in too bad of shape if it is really the shoe you want you won't have a lot of other options.

Thanks for the great response.

Why do shoes get the no warranty mark?

AE sells worn returns to a third party retailer (I am guessing this auction is by Hitch N' Post) to recoup some of their losses on these or anything that is so defective that it can't be a second will get the "No Warranty" mark.

Wow, I'm glad I came back to the thread for this.

I'm 99% 100% sure those are my original MTOs! I really loved how they turned out, but they were way too big for me. I shipped them back to Allison and she confirmed that even though I asked for 8.5E, they were made on the 9E last. Please keep that in mind when deciding upon them. I only wore them once, so don't worry about them being mistreated.

Here was the make-up:

Model: Eagle County
Size: 8.5E 9E
Upper: Golden Brown Chromexcel
Stitching: Contrast, Khaki (to match "Brown with Reverse Smokey Stitch" welt)
Lining: Independence
Insole: Independence
Welt type: Split Reverse
Welt color: "Brown with Reverse Smokey Stitch" of the Wilbert
Edge dressing: Light Brown Transparent
Eyelets: Copper Agatine
Speed hooks: 5-holes/4-hooks instead of 6-holes/2-hooks/1-hole as it comes.
Sole: Mini-Lug Tap Sole with Leather Midsole

EDIT: After finding the eBay listing, I'm positive they were mine.

I used to make some extra cash by buying all the seconds I was interested in, keeping the certain ones and flipping the rest on ebay, but it seems ebay prices have gone down considerably and theres not much room for profit anymore...

What does that stamp say? Anyone know?

Amazing!

They're definitely too big for me. Thanks for the info :)

Does that mean they cannot be recrafted?

hard to find Merlot Strands (seconds) from the Port Washington Shoe Bank....I can't seem to find any blemishes, other than the light colored thread end on the edge of the right shoe (they don't appear to be even tried on)

Really? I just thought that meant they won't do any work on them for free or exchange them. I don't see why they won't recraft them if you pay. Like a normal recraft. I could be dead wrong.

Just called AE. They WILL recraft "no warranty" shoes. But if something goes wrong in the recraft, they won't help you. You are just out a pair of shoes.

Is there a list of recraftable shoes anywhere?
