I went to the AE trunk sale in Princeton today. They had several new shoes on display that will be part of their spring collection. These pics were all on the new 3 last which is apparently an undated version of the basically defunct 0 last. They still make the Boston on the 0, which I have. I really love the fit but the rep said the 0 last was a love it or hate it last and the new 3 last is supposed to be more comfortable as well as more "contemporary." Anyway here are a few pics:

Flatiron

Larchmont
Additionally he said there was a new version of the Mora which will be available in brown and black that is also on the 3 last. He showed me a pic in a dealer catalog but didn't have a sample at the show.

Nice. Those are some intriguing looking shoes. Thank goodness for the news on the Mora 2.0; I have something to look forward to.

Quick question... is this amount of wrinkling on a Malvern second considered normal?

The AE seconds I've bought in the past were indistinguishable (to me) from firsts. But I'm not sure what a Malvern first looks like. This photo is the right shoe; the left has a slight crease but not nearly as noticeable as this one.

Just wondering if this is out of the ordinary. I'm still pretty happy with it for $130 or whatever the Black Friday price was.

Would there be any interest in a MTO group buy? I was thinking of having the "Fifth Street" balmoral boot made up in Brown Shell Cordovan with a natural edge trim and a leather sole. Please let me know so I can post more details.

I wanted exactly what you are suggesting. I even emailed the CEO of Allen Edmonds to see if he would be willing to make me a MTO with those specifications. I'd be willing to pay for the boot, the MTO fee plus the shell upgrade fee. I figured something like that would cost around $700. I never heard back from Paul so I went ahead and bought the boot in brown calfskin. I'd love to see this boot made but since I already have it I doubt i'd buy another pair in shell. Same thing with the Strands. Since I already have the Strand in Walnut calfskin I can't bring myself to buy the shell version.

i went into the store last night and saw a pair of green leather with red lace and the same pair with a red leather and green lace. I guess AE is ready for Xmas. SA told me they just received it Thursday, but I can't recall the exact name of the shoe.

I'm ready for Christmas - picked these up this summer on sale. They are the Allen Edmonds Holiday.

Those are cool, but I could only imagine wearing those once or twice a year--and really only to Christmas parties. Enjoy!

exactly what i think.

I think if those shoes said "Edward Green" on them, that there would be at least a few people arguing that there's nothing wrong with them. I've seen plenty of shoes that are even less wearable than these recieve positive comments on SF.
