Egotistical or not egotistical?

Who the **** cares and why is it even up for discussion? It's a fashion forum. None of us are asking which BoO shirt will look best while accepting our Nobel Peace Prize.

now you are justifying why we should care about some thing and not others by falling back on the "its a fashion forum lets only talk about fashion" but this is the 1 and 2 definition of fashion according to the dictionary: 1. \ta prevailing custom or style of dress, etiquette, socializing, etc.: the latest fashion in dresses. 2. \tconventional usage in dress, manners, etc., esp. of polite society, or conformity to it: the dictates of fashion; to be out of fashion. both are talking about prevailing customs and conventions which this thread goes against 100% i am trying to make the argument that it is egotistical not to care AT ALL about prevailing customs and conventions because that goes against fashion, in other words i am trying to save the very fabric that binds this forum together--FASHION! I LOVE FASHION SEE? SOMETHING HUGE IS AT RISK HERE IF THEY WIN WE LOSE

What prevailing customs and conventions has anyone in this thread said they don't care about? Not caring wether anyone notices the details in your tie is not the same as not showering in the abstract manner you brought up. The only thing you've really done is subscribe what is at best circular reasoning to your original point just so that you can proclaim yourself right on:

1: the internet
2: a fashion forum
3: a dumb thread

As I see it, the biggest egoist posting right now is you. So congratulations, you WIN!

This possibly could be moved to the dumb thread section.

Maybe we can just trim out andyliu's posts and move them there.

I think too many here are conflating style and fashion... They are not the same thing.

I've grown tired of andyliu's trolling and contrarian attitude trying to break-up sf love of established rules. I never noticed him before but for some reason (insecurity?) he now feels the need to interject in all these threads his nonsensical failed logic combined with his signature snideness. I think even xeno at this point brings far more to the table than he does. Why is he here trying to fight a losing battle? I believe a forum dedicated to mall brands would be a far more appropriate home for him and we should put him out of his misery if he continues to be a 2sweet or lechon&rice.

the battle i am trying to fight here is that i think you should also dress with real life people in mind. im not arguing against details or anything like that, i personally like them, i am just arguing against several people who proclaimed that they didnt care at all about what other people thought of their dress, trying to point out that such an absolute mentality is not good.

I don't care at all about what other people think of how I dress, and quite frankly I think this mentality is healthy. Sure, compliments are always nice, but in the end, I don't care. If I dressed with real life people in mind, I'd look ******* horrible.

But I also agree that once you get into that ballpark no one really cares. I'm 16 and I go to high school and I don't feel like buying $1xx on a shirt or jeans but I try and emulate the style and one day when this girl said my $20 (originally $50) jeans had a really nice color and she would wear them if they were my size this other guy said "He always dresses good" even though I usually rotate between $10 Uniqlo graphic T-shirts and I just throw on a Gap/BR sweater that doesn't fit me that well in the winter and I rotate between my blue and black uniqlo slim jeans.

Buddy, that's moar like an insult.

It's true. I always wear two outfits simultaneously. It's been really ******* hot lately and this **** is uncomfortable so I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and let someone tell me that no one cares about my efforts.

It's not ever been a question of xenox bringing more or fewer things to the table so much as what he brings being consistently soul-destroyingly awful. Is this thread for real? How did this even get past 5 posts; everyone knows that no one cares, and no one here cares about that fact. It's called "next-level apathy". DT please.
