Ash turns clothes black. With black clothes it isn't noticable.

I guess that makes sense, but it still seems like wearing all black would be exhaustingly hot, especially with fires raging outside.

Sorry, but stacking wider hems to such an extreme gives the impression of integrated leg-warmers.
