The cuts got considerably smaller between FW05 and FW06. I have the Engineer jacket from both seasons, and the FW06 is considerably shorter in the skirt (the 05 hit about 1.7" lower than the 06 version, and the 07 version, at least from these pics, looks very similar to the 06 version in length) and considerably narrower through the shoulder and torso.

Yes, the slimness would be an issue. I hope that they are cut very slim in the torso. The shoulders could be broad, though.

The herringbone bedford looks great. I'm not even sure if a small would fit me well though.

The fit of the bedford is on the slim and small side, because of the thinsulate lining. The non-thinsulate bedford is a perfect medium (not slim medium) fit, the shoulders snug, the sleeve fit just right (I'm 5'9" and a medium medium, not slim medium). So I assume that a slim medium person would fit just right in the wool bedford. Actually, the person to ask about the fit of the wool bedford if you're a slim medium is DDML (he's posted a pic or two with it in WAYWT). I had to size up to a large for the wool bedford and I'm a perfect fit for the non-thinsulate medium bedfords. Hope the wordiness and bad grammar didn't make it more confusing.

For reference, I a 5'11", 155 lbs (right now), with a 38" chest and 30" waist, and a medium (at least for past seasons fits me well) fits me very well.

thanks for the info LA guy! sounds like the sizes are pretty normal I guess? 38=M, right?

I think it comes down to how wide the chest is, and how long it, for it to be functional as a fall jacket. Im a 44 chest, close to 6´4, and usually an XL, but jackets cant be cut too short in sleeve and over all length if theyre to fit. I probably could fit an XL, but is it long enough to cover ****** from the chilling winds?

I have a cotton Norfolk in XL which is slightly too large. I can wear it comfortably with a W+H tiger fleece under it (I just did this because it's one of the thickest tops that I own). The shoulders are slightly too broad but everything else fits fine. I assume this is the intent? Hopefully the Bedford has slightly slimmer shoulders and I'll be good. For reference, I'm a 42-43 chest.

I Hate ******* Computers!!!!! Now that I have that off my chest. The reason I have not responded to any of you guys is because my computer pulled a nutty on me yesterday. Froze up and even Apple Support couldn't figure out what was going on after they had me on the phone for two hours. Well, I fired it up this morning and it was like nothing happened except I have had to re-log into everything all over again. I hope the Apple store guys can tell me what 's up when I see them tonight. OK, I'm sure you want information so here goes the reality of it.
I did not order any smalls. OUCH! I can feel the expletives already. I am though trying to get some as I type this. I am pretty sure that I will succeed. Stay tuned.
The cost of the Bedford in Wool is $460.00 plus shipping. I will except a non refundable deposit of 50% and ship the coats as soon as EG has them ready which could be as soon as July.
Please call me 617-547-2067 should you have any questions regarding this coat or anything else that Fok posted for me. Thanks Fok!

Best Regards,

Gary

No smalls??!! Well, if you get some, let us know. Also, can you offer some sizing advice? I'm a 37" chest, 30" waist, fairly wide shoulders.
