Wonderful stuff. Earl Grey blended with Lapsang Souchong.

As for everyday stuff, Twinings is the best. I don't know quite how to describe it, but the flavor is a little sharper and brighter than many others, and I like that.

Beautiful leaves, although the lack of explanation for the blue-ness is kind of unnerving.

The only thing I can add is that Upton Tea (http://www.uptontea.com/ where I get most of my stock) makes a mean Earl Grey. Twinings tea is typically awful, especially if you get it loose; Lipton is similar or weakly better. Mariage Freres charges you a lot of markup for the snob value, but it's good, and tea is cheap anyway.

.

It's the cornflower but despite what they say I'd be willing to bet it was added strictly for visual effect.

Ah, haha, thanks. That's an error in my reading comprehension. And I agree, I've never had cornflower tea before.

Earl Grey Excelsior. Fantastic blend that produces a deep, dark, strong teeth dyeing brew.
One of my favorite teas ever.
Not a blend drinker myself, but with this one I do make an exception.

I like the Harrod's tins. Am I a wank or is it posh?

I have just returned from my local supermarket with 200 bags of Twinings 'new improved' Earl Grey blend. The box boasts the approval and signature of the current (6th) Earl Grey and also advertises a new Sunshine Grey blend with extra lemon...

Taste test shows no great difference to my unsophisticated palette. Still a nice, bright refreshing taste.

Just go to one of those middle eastern grocery stores and buy a bag full of loose earl grey; even the cheapest option will have a better taste than supermarket t-bags.
