Hey guys! I'm new to FS, I've read many posts and I trust your opinions. I am buying a suit for prom(not a tux) but I want a contemporary suit so I'm looking at some black label suits. I normally wear a 36s/r but when I went into the shop the guy told me I was a 38 and I tried it on. Tell me what you think! This is the worse fitting one. I can have it altered a little but but I just want to buy the right size because I'm going to buy from Mr. Porter's. I'm just suspicious because they just HAPPENED to only have 38 R's in stock... interesting how he told me that was my exact size

To me it looks like the jacket needs to be tighter in the waist, shorter in the sleeves and in the overall length. Try sizing down.

You could post better pictures though. Take hands out of pockets and it will be easier to tell.

Alright, I'll try looking for a suit in a smaller size. Sadly the store I went to ran out of 38's and 36's.
Mr. Porter's has a pretty decent return policy so it's not that dire but just in case I have to take a blind guess what size do you guys suggest I downsize to? The picture is of a 38R Ralph Lauren Black Label

I don't know how reliable these numbers actually are but according to the website this is the measurement breakdown( In Cm). I wear a size 32 waist by the way.
