a properly balanced trouser is larger in the back than the front by about 2 inches. that is to make it comfortable to sit and to walk. if you take in the trousers 2 inches the usual method the back and front will be the same, not good. the stride is shortened for walking. sitting room will be tighter. the pockets will be pulled toward the back.Originally Posted by a tailor
