Hahahaha, it's hilarious. It's uncommon so they double take and can't figure it out. Kind of like when you see a front-clasp bra for the first time.

How troubling can it really be? Everyone's seen buttons. I once had a girl exclaim "buttons! fancy!". I see the relation to tricky bras though.

I have heard, from a practical standpoint, for cold weather wear zippers tend to seize up and buttons obviously don't. This goes for jackets and pants. This is in part why a lot of naval garb has buttons and snap releases.

I sometimes miss a button in the middle on my APCs or Diors. It only happens with those two brands. Don't know why.
