I partly agree about the wholecuts. In (dark) suede, or with some brogueing on the toe, they can look OK. However the plain leather models in the pictures make me think of some eyeless, cave-dwelling abomination.

I do, however, absolutely love double monks. But the again, I have never, ever worn velcro shoes.

Ridiculous gimmicks such as
-felt flowers;
-bracelets;
-fun socks.

I also do not like flat front trousers.

I have just one pair of flat front trousers ... and for the life of me I don't know why I got them that way.

I've fallen victim to some of these but such is life:

- Rolled up raw denim in excess of 2 inches

- Fake shoe or briefcase patina

- Lapel flowers or other trinkets

- Vox

- Hong Kong tailors

- Unnecessarily large shirt buttons

- Laceless dress shoes that aren't single or double monks

- Single breasted peak lapel jackets other than the black tie variety

- Hats, of any kind

- Shell cordovan wingtips

- Shoes that cost over $2,000

- Spread BD shirts (yes I'm talking about you gdl)

- Solid coloured silk pocket squares other than cream or white

- "Bond" style turn back dress shirt cuffs
