Don't be so melodramatic. They are dark cotton Incos - they are fine. SWD will think the top is formal, but the jacket is quite casual.

I think part of the problem is the pants don't contrast enough with the top color-wise, so it looks almost like it's trying to be a suit but the pants don't go (either in terms of matching or level of dress.) Plus the stitching/sole on the shoes does not look good with the top, which is fairly refined. Are those Doc Martens or something?
