My mom and I went to the Biennale of Sydney at Cockatoo Island yesterday to check out the artwork and stuff. I thought I'd post some of the art installations that they have on display too.

-- Suspended cars! There are light rods coming out of the inside, to re-enact an explosion. Very cool.

-- Slum roofs. It's like a playground, really. Lots of noise from people and kids walking on top of corrugated iron.

-- A wooden replica of the Hubble.

-- Some life-sized photo of something. There's a video playing somewhere else in the island which explains the story behind this.

-- Silver balls on the floor.

-- And my favorite.... Fidel Castro, breathing on his deathbed. You can seriously see his diaphragm expanding and hear his shallow breaths. He's surrounded by other dead political leaders (Lenin, Ho Chi Minh, Kim Il-Sung and Mao Zedong) who are enclosed in glass. Together, they form a pentagon shape in the room. Very creepy, but I loved it.

Anyway, sorry for flooding this thread with randomness!

I would recommend the 3G version as the Wi-fi is dead in the water when you're not around a connection. I will be upgrading mine as soon as they have more in stock.

Interesting set of photos. I think this is my favourite, though I like the silver balls on floor one too.

Day off...
