Probably right. I think it was south of TS. It seems like it was upstairs, but I may not be remembering properly. We had a fantastic waitress who had a very good sense of humor about the fact that I knew no Mandarin. I learned to say "Thank you" and she got a great kick out of hearing me say it after every course.
That's pretty much all I know too. I haggled the hell out of one of the saleswomen in the Silk Market for some souvenirs, and on the way out I said "xie xie." The look on her face afterward was absolute shock.
Li Qun is only one story, but with a bunch of narrow hallways, and when you first walk in you head towards the oven with all the ducks roasting in it. Along one of the hallways they had pictures and newspaper clippings of all the foreign diplomats and others who have eaten there - ring any bells?
