The Parade's End novels are wonderful, and show a more adeventurous style than The Good Soldier. I think that Ford is terribly under-rated, and I much prefer him to some of the more celebrated English modernists (Joyce, for instance).Originally Posted by Working Stiff

Yeah. Parade's End is my favourite novel of all time. I think I've read it eight or nine times, to the point that the hardcover is falling off and needs to be rebound. The thing that really makes him better than Joyce is that Ford's novels are actually readable.Originally Posted by Mildly Consumptive
