The shop that used to carry Carmina seems to be carrying another brand now. I think it was Yanko. Stopped by briefly while vacationing in Barcelona this July.

The shoes looked OK, but I didn't buy anything.

check out the food markets off the Ramblas, some of the best i've seen.
Also, I hear the naval museum is interesting. I went to the aquarium instead, not the best but decent (around $15-20 euro to get in though!)

It still completely blows my mind that the restaurant only takes reservations one day a year. Puts French Laundry to shame.

It's been about five years since I was in Barcelona, but I still remember Cal Pep and Pinotxo for restaurants. Both are tapas places. I think Cal Pep was the best meal I had in the city, there was a great dish with tiny fried bait fish and a poached egg.

Los Caracoles is a Catalan place that had some delicious rotisserie meats.

Other than the view from the vantage point in Parc Guell (which it seems you'll be taking in anyway) my no. 1 recommendation in Barcelona is Harlem Jazz Club (www.harlemjazzclub.es) - assuming you'd also like to take in some live music in a (night)clubby atmosphere in between the shopping and eating.

Speaking of food - standards are surprisingly variable in Barcelona (compared to other Spanish cities) and 'tapas on the Ramblas' is not always all it's cracked up to be...

FC Barcelona plays Atletico Madrid on Sept. 20 @ home. It's not food or shopping, but still something to check out.

There is a shop who carries Brioni but I prefer Madrid, there is the typical Armani store, very bad of course. Visit la sala Bagdad, where the actor Nacho Vidal started

Oh really? I didn´t know that. Carmina´s are top notch ones while Yanko are cheapo shoes for old unstylish people.

Taller de Tapas on La Rambla has decent tapas and is where Woody Allen filmed a scene for Vicky Christina Barcelona, if you like that sort of thing. Definitely hit the Gaudi stuff (Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, Parque Güell, Sagrada Familia) the Palau de la Musica Catalunya is pretty cool. Also, if you're there on the right Sunday and in the mood for seeing something really gross, take in a bullfight at Monumental.

Sorry but the corrupted socialist, allied with the commies and independentist are ready to close the Monumental and declare illegal the bullfighting, oh yes, the defenders of the " freedom" are closing things.

Or perhaps those real punks throught you some acid on your face when you get out of the show. Yes, the " pacemakers" and hippies.
