The guy who said that his Common Projects got compliments has it mostly right. It isn't the shoes themselves so much as the message you send out by wearing the best goddamn sneakers most people can get. The type of guy who think that spending lots of money on shoes will get him laid will always go for the flashiest, overdesigned BAPES he can get. In contrast, Common Projects are a form of stealth wealth that say 'I don't spend a lot so that people know I spend a lot, I only buy the best because it's what I want.' To most women, that's a positive sign insofar as the shoes look good without being too ostentatious. It's the difference between the Louis Vuitton monogrammed briefcase and the Hermes plain samsonite briefcase.
