I'm interested in opinions on which is the most versatile causal shoe. This would be a shoe that would work well jeans, khakis, and cords. I'm thinking a chukka boot, but I am interested in your opinions as well. I do not like the look of penny loafers with jeans.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Chukkas, chelseas, plain toe bluchers, brogued bluchers (wingtip or longwing) ... any of these will work; pick whichever you like best.

Those look really nice. I sent you a PM.

Which other suede chukkas should I be looking at? Allen Edmonds Malvern? Alden? Is it worth looking at Clarks or J. Crew? I'm willing to be in the $300 - $400 range, but the ones at BB from Peal & Co. are quite pricey.

Brown suede chukkas rule! It's not even close.

I'm not really a big fan of suede, but if you're into chukkas and suede, then Crockett & Jones makes the Tetbury in brown suede. I believe it comes with a rubber dainite sole. I have the same boot in the dark brown antique nubuck (it's more like a calf skin finish). The calf-like finish makes them look appropriate dressed up, or adds a little flair to a casual outfit.

What about Crockett and Jones? The Tetbury is very nice, but probably at the upper end of your price range. EDIT: oroy38 beat me to it.
