Thanks, Tom. The jeans are GAP 1969 raw denim in their "Authentic" cut. It's the slimmest cut available in-stores (vs. online, which has one skinnier cut).

Actually, that's just the angler bag in bridle tan leather, not deerskin. I know, because I'm also a client:

The deerskin's actually two toned and has a matte pebble-like finish. I hope they didn't tell you that it was deerskin, since there's a $700 price difference.

Eh, the new deerskin bags look like that - the old ones do not. This was sold as a deerskin bag to me. Edit: I've contacted the seller (a large retailer on eBay) and the person I spoke to said she will have to get her boss involved in the "investigation". I like the bag either way, but it was advertised as a deerskin bag with a retail price of $1255.00, so paying what I paid I was happy with it. But if the bag is a $495.00 bag, I would not be nearly as happy.

It's made of canvas and leather. The use of leather trim is impressive, even the piping on the edge of the top flap is perfectly cut, stitched, consistent thickness bridle leather. One single piece too.

Sure. I went through the same decision. The small bag has the following going for it: side pockets, double layer bottom (because the side pockets make for another layer), no zipper closure (this zipper is actually pretty brutal, laptop has to have a sleeve), and availability of brown color. The 240 is larger though and the zipper is an added level of security

It doesn't look much different from new yet. It's about a year old.
