It's a Nike AF1 except the shape of the last is much sleeker (it follows the contours of a foot) and the upper part is on steroids (see tongue). The side zip and upper make the shoe what it is; pretty damn flashy.

RO isn't that niche considering his production size, editorial presence, stores, men's and women's runway shows in Paris etc. Not saying he's Louis Vuitton but he's not small like MA+. Now the rest of your post is pure absurd hyperbole; you don't have to have a direct impact on the public to be at the forefront of innovation in your field and influence an artistic/design movement. A big part of what, say Margiela, did was influence other designers and stand as a counterpoint to the glamour/celebrity designers of the 80s. Now I'm not saying RO is a revolutionary genius, just that him being one or not has nothing to do with what you're saying.

Pretty big would imply that you could go to most fly over states and people know the brand...typically you need a frangrance to be big.

You could say mid-size.

I think that you need to recalibrate. This would mean that maybe half a dozen luxury brands, total, would be "pretty big," maybe a dozen if you include brands without RTW lines, like a Rolex or Tiffanys. You'd hit maybe... a couple dozen if you include contemporary women's lines. If your "man on the street" is a man, you'd be lucky to get 10 answers (including prompted ones,) total.

Yeah my "pretty big" was vague but definitely not comparable to that scale. Not Coach, not YSL etc. But even then well known women's lines like say Balenciaga don't have that big a scale when it comes to men's.

I think that you can get Cutler and Gross real buffalo frames for something around $600 (maybe a bit more now). I have no idea. Elder Statesman seems intent on seeing just how much people will pay for lux basics. I think that they were selling a cashmere drug rug for about the same price. Must have the same rich pothead clientele as LPF.
