happy hooligan, any comments on which pair is more comfortable? I prefer the looks of the ultimate indy, but i think the soles of the 405 look very comfy.

Which means the J. Crew option is the perfect medium.

I have both 405s and ultimates.
Comfortwise, they're equal.
The 405 sole can be a bit slippery in the wet though.

the 405's are more comfortable as they're not leather lined which makes the UTIndy a bit more heavy and when it's hot out they make your feet sweat more.

The 405's are lighter but I like the rubber sole of the UTIndy as it cushions more and is less noisy.

they both fit perfect for me, right out of the box. I'm wearing the UTindy's today and they're comfortable all day long.

It's give and take for either pair, but you can't go wrong with either...

So I emailed J. Crew customer service to ask what type of leather these were made of. They responded that they wouldn't be able to find out until they "checked with the factories in Italy." Since I assume they don't mean tannery, either they don't know ANYTHING about their products, or "Made in USA" isn't what it used to be. I'll keep you updated, but if anyone knows how to contact someone at J. Crew who actually knows something, PLEASE pm me. I'd love to get some answers...

You wont get a discount. I used to work at JCrew and they never allow discounts on the collaborations.

I suppose there is a super outside chance, but best case would be 30% and it is highly unlikely. Something like this will likely be on the "exclusions" list for employee discounts.

... for employees or in general? cuz they heavily discounted the RW collab last spring.
