I'm studying for the Six Sigma Green Belt exam and this stuff is a pain in the butt! I've been studying the Primer and taking practive exams, but the exam questions are super tricky. Anyone got any pointers on how to pass this thing?

That exam was a lot easier than they made it out to be. I passed with nearly a perfect score and only needed a 70%. I think the key is a really great cheat sheet (since it's an open book exam). Now, onto the Black Belt...

So to pass the six sigma test 30% of your answers can be incorrect? Isn't that more like 2 sigma?

What was your background / training / role previously?

I'm curious how hard it would be for me to self study for a Green Belt cert...

I'm working in the pharma industry and I get trainings that are somewhat similar in nature.

I still don't think it would be that hard to self study. Just get the book, answer booklet and practice test CD. Read through the entire book and take a bunch of practice tests and keep putting the answers on a cheat sheet. The test is open book, so you can bring it right in with you. Also, don't be fooled about how hard the questions are on the practice test. The real test is a lot easier.

Next test is in december - Plenty of time to study!
