Advice on getting a decent tux fast

I need a tuxedo post haste, I have last minute plans for the inauguration and I would very much rather not rent. I've checked Ebay, and it's mostly rental stock. I will get a $60 (or more) rental stock off ebay before I go and rent but I would much MUCH rather get a good tuxedo. Can you guys give me any advice, on where I can look, what I can do? Or rather, can you guys tell me which of the brands listed typically on ebay are less shady than the others if I do have to get a tux off there.

The brands are like Fiorelli, Baroni, RL green label, Raspinni.

What is your price point?

Generally speaking most high end brands make tuxedos and most of them can be found on Ebay.

If it were me in your shoes I would just get the "wizard of Ahhs" tuxedos of ebay. He sells Baroni and Marco Valentino(supposedly more atheltic cut) in 1 button peak (classic tuxedo) and he can get you your correct pants size for a better fit and less tailoring. I think they cost like 280 shipped with "styleforum" discount. But you'd better hurry though.

I'd like to stay under 350 if at all possible, could consider going up to 500. I'm perfectly ok with used, though a bit unhappy about pre rented. I could spend a lot more. I hate paying full retail, and I would much rather not do that and get something better at a discount.

Not enough photos to judge, but I don't like 4x1 double breasted.

In the $350 range, I'd try Brooks, Jos A Bank, maybe even Macy's. If you're in NYC, you could try Century 21. At that price, I think you're going to have a very hard time finding a truly high-quality, full-canvassed tux, and I'd be wary of used. I'd say, find what looks best on you and be willing to pay a little for alterations.

Edit - and I'd think it smart to try on the tux before you buy, if at all possible.

I have a 40R Hickey Freeman tux for sale if you are interested. It is a stunning tux that retails for $1500 and I am asking for $450. It is a special piece as it has rare double vents (something you hardly ever see in formal wear). It really is a gorgeous, and if makes it any easier on you I live in D.C. I went to Moss Bros yesterday with a friend who needed to get a dinner suit and interestingly all their peak-lapel dinner-jackets are double-vented. Not that their quality can even begin to be compared to HF though...

Seems to be a recent fad with the double vents. If you walk into Saks just about every RTW tux has a closed back. Every once in awhile you will see one with a double vent (which I like) but they are few and far between.
