i take them off a mannequin if it so happens to be wearing my size and none are left in the racks or out back. i once changed the outfit on a mannequin. just noting this since i scored a jacket in my size on a mannequin recently.

Whenever I'm in a store I make sure that the mannequin's faces are facing away from me. I don't like them watching, judging me.

Its tough to do but I've done it several times. I usually have to get a salesperson to do it. It is painful to watch the clothes get stretched so much.

Yep, the mannequin was clothed in the size I needed. I recall doing it several times, even once for shoes.

Many years ago there was a pair of plaid shorts I HAD to have. Only the mannequin had them left in my size. I debated my options:

1) forget them and live forever with the regret
2) ask the sales associate the remove the shorts and ring them up for me
c) drag the mannequin to the register and start negotiations for the mannequin + shorts, hopefully ending up with just the shorts.
