BB bought Southwick recently? Does that mean it will switch to Southwick from Greenfield gradually for it's suit? Anyone have any thoughts?
I suspect they will continue to use Greenfield for Golden Fleece.
Are the Southwick-made suits full canvas?
Yes - I have been pretty impressed with the quality on the RTW I have seen.
I thought all of the 1818 line- regardless of being made in Italy or the USA- was half canvass. Interestingly (and this is probably what you're referring to), I've seen many Southwick-branded items that were indeed full canvass.
I have heard from a BB employee that Greenfield is out and will be replaced by Southwick just above 1818 and an Italian maker above that.
Del Vecchio is restoring them said:I guess i don't mind restoring the retailing and maker if the quality is the same, but clearly you can't expect me to pay +1500 for a GF that's made by Southwick; unless i see SIGNIFICANT hand tailoring.....
