Bicycle toes, do you like them?

I don't like bicycle toe shoes either, for reasons others have mentioned. That said, I did buy the A-E Mapleton because I wanted some more casual shoes for walking my dog. For walking the dog they were fine (I don't have a dog now, my last dog having been put down for cancer in January), and they are okay for working in the yard and that sort of thing. However, I would not care to wear them in any situation where a dressier appearance than one suitable for walking the dog around the neighborhood or puttering in the yard was wanted.

I have thought that bicycle toe shoes are more popular with the younger set. My stepson's favorite dress shoes are his A-E Hillcrests in merlot.

The style can look good on boots with zippers down the sides. The lines groove with each other. For dress shoes, I never deviate from the standard wing-, cap-, medallion-, moc- designs.

+1, they just never look right to me; I've been seeing a lot of AE Hillcrests around discount stores, and man they are ugly. I agree with LK in that the uglies KC-esque shoes I see are always bicycle toes.

I thought these were nice once. I was wrong. The fact that I still own these shoes saddens me. They're like pretty girls sticking their tongues out.

A mistake that I won't make again. Rarely wear them.

MANY better less formal styles, IMO.

I made the same mistake and I also seldom wear mine. I try justify them as rainy day shoes.

I don`t like bicycle toes and split toes (or whatever you call them). Even the names sound ugly
