Light to mid denim (done right) is apparently coming back to style. However I have had my eyes on some nice, dark, raw denim for some time.

Save this purchase for Fall?

Any opinions on the matter of dark denim in the summer?

Dark denim can be worn any time. I don't think it has to follow the same rules as 400 year old anglo saxon clothing tradition.

Dark denim in summertime is fine theoratically.

But...

since your location listed as Chicago, you probably would want to switch to some lighter/breathable fabric for the 80% humidity that you are going to enjoy. And dark denim could always help you BBQ your thighs!

Hahaha, it's an unfortunately but true fact.

Chicago is hot and sweaty in the summer. You'll get way more wearings per wash in the winter, if that matters to you.
