Proceeds go to a Not For Profit would be my guess although between you and me I would imagine that one would be better off DONATING money and then getting a receipt rather than buying and then deducting the actual value of the item from the purchase price to get the deduction. ALso could be the buyer doesnt want the deduction just wants to give the organization. JJF

This puzzles me to. I would never buy that suit for that money. People who bid could be bougus bidders to hype the AD.

From October 20 to 26 the bidding rose from $10 to $30. Then that day someone with zero feedback entered a bid of $1,400 which was answered by a $1,425 bid from someone who had bid previously.
Charity or not, someone overpaid. I guess you Yanks can declare this on your income taxes.

Looks like a "shill" bidder to me. It doesn't make any sense to jump from $30 to $1,000 +. One could easily retract the bid, if it was a mistake. It would appear with zero feedback, someone who recently opened an account. Bogus.. Inexperienced bidders don't have a clue. The idea of winning is the main concern, regardless of the value of the item.
