Personally, I agree with CCAurora. There are hundreds of countries around the world that don't have half the problems with acne as we do in the states. Why do you think that is? And I would venture to guess that the skin of our parents and grandparents generation were much better than it is now, even without the Accutane.

But CCAurora, what changes would you suggest making immediately, besides that food reaction test you mentioned? Drinking more water? Is stress truly a factor in getting pimples?

On what do you base that? My mom always remarks that now you don't see anybody with acne, but back in the day that was always the case. Not gonna say my mom is an authority on the matter, but your claims may be just as anecdotal as hers.

Could be. Like I said, it's just a guess. Although looking through my family's photos, I have yet to see anyone with acne. Maybe it just doesn't show up in black and white photos.

What will your dermatologist do to help you different phase 1 and phase 2 liver detoxification and which of the two could be causing acne? Oh wait - he'll take your $$$ for the default topical treatment and if that doesn't work, there's "no other option" than to take a medication. Cute. Your acne isn't caused by a drug deficiency...

The idea of a specialist is asinine because it implies that the body works as segmented as these doctors do. Its a great way to feed the system, but not to feed your body. In fact, you're silencing it. You're not giving your body what its asking for by creating symptoms like acne (100% of the time, acne is a symptom of an underlying cause... 100%) - you are bypassing the issue and silencing a symptom. You can slice your kid's voice box to make him stop talking, but did you really solve the problem? Hmm...

Definitely not clueless, but you do seem to be a bit clueless as to how specialists are educated. You realize that they get all the basics and understand how the rest of the body works in medical school before they become specialists, right? They're definitely qualified to treat your acne, but if you want to continue to use your little magic herbs go right on ahead I guess.
