What college did you go/do you go to?

How do you like it there? I'm at Ithaca College and graduating next year with a business degree and am looking into Fordham to get my masters in economics.

Same as Kellogg grads don't say Northwestern, or Stern for NYU... I think it's just more instant brand recognition, unless it's HBS where the university itself has a big brand name. MIT gets associated with math and science, so people like to differentiate. Wharton has far more cachet than the rest of UPenn (same as with NYU), and Haas doesn't make you sound like you're a hippy. In general it has to do with the B-school outshining the rest of the university, or it has to do with differentiating from the perception of the school as a whole.
