Actually, I believe they are Nino Corvato. He is a custom tailor, a master tailor.

I assume that he ran out of fabric.

Im not sure if I am checking for fit or overall design but this jacket can be pretty cool. I realize it has some iGent to it but it is in black which takes it into a bit more chic territory and, in the right circumstances, you could carry this off. Can you take the tape off? Also, wear it with medium grey pants. Is it seersucker?

I'm not sure that the Trumpian phrase "step up" is quite iGent. I'll give you 2 iYorker points, though.

The pocket square is quite nice.

The slimming effect is very well done.

The 3/2 button work is good.

You might almost say this is a nice piece, and then think about it and say NO!

I actually like it, and assume Vox likes his as well, but I can definitely see how both could fall into the tragic category.

It's actually 7 panels in the same fabric, different colors and that one panel. For instance the sleeves are vertically split into two fabrics. Usually this type of jacket is made from smaller patches, this achieves a subtler effect for the genre. I don't know if my number 1 fan has collected the back view of the jacket but that photo is in poor lighting. I took that waay back during the AAAC days when I was getting used to taking pics of clothes for the first time. I could retake it next time I wear it, which will be soon. Which is an interesting point, that jacket has gone from being for the occasional private party to wearing it around city and suburbs on the weekend and people love it.
