yen jeans / seal kay jeans

i don't think these two brands have ever been mentioned here but as usual i'm curious as to any comments, especially from the all knowing mr LA guy, on such attire

Yen by Michiko Koshino and Seal Kay are both London based brands, and both are street and club influenced, which means that a lot of the jeans are a lower rise, baggier style with some tapering.  A lot of Seal Kay jeans are in heavier weight denim in baggier styles, mostly.  Lots of wierd fashion details a la G-Star, but also some good basics as well.  I really don't see the appeal of Yen.  Some the the "wrinkled" textures are quite nice, but most of the jeans I've seen are excessively detailed and/or washed.  But then again, I tend to think that American premium denim brands, that are in general less innovative but do a better with the fundamentals, are really the way to go.

Do you mean Yen jeans with this type of logo:

If so, the one's I have seen are are usually "raw" unwashed selvedge denim, with a slim 501 type fit. Â Like this:

I've seen a couple of styles I sort of like. In general though, I find that the jeans are overdone.
