Wool sweater storage and wear questions

I have two new wool sweaters from banana republic. The size is great, so I am loathe to have any shrinkage.

1) What is the best way to store a sweater? Hanging, or folded? If folded, like you would a T-shirt?

2) Is it gauche to wear a sweater that still has those "I'm new!" creases down the sleeves? If not, how do I rid the garment of them w/o actually washing it?

Thx

1. Fold it like they do in the store (not down the middle) and put it in a drawer or on a shelf. If you need to hang it (which you should avoid) get the hangers that have fuzzy stuff on the shoulders so the neck doesn't stretch out.

If the sweater acquires creases from storage, steam it with an iron or steamer.

2. I don't think anyone will notice/care. If you want to get them out, use steam from an iron (don't touch the fabric, turn it inside out if you're worried you might) and preferably a sleeveboard (small ironing board) or just a regular ironing board and they will come out of there. If just steam isn't enough, you can press lightly on the wrong side (inside) or use a pressing cloth like a cotton handkerchief and carefully press the creases out.
