Is there anyway to prevent the back of the eyelets from scratching the tongue?
UNIFORM LA Japanese BDU Camo Cargo Pants Drop, going on right now.
Uniform LA's Japanese BDU Camo Cargo Pants are now live. These cargos are based off vintage US Army BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) cargos. They're made of a premium 13.5-ounce Japanese twill that has been sulfur dyed for a vintage look. Every detail has been carried over from the inspiration and elevated. Available in two colorways, tundra and woodland. Please find them here
Good luck!.

So I guess just embrace it huh. Thanks for all your help wj4.It's going to scratch really easily since it's chromexcel. That's the beauty of it.
I have coconut oil in the bathroom. My girlfriend uses it for oil pulling.Of course, simply use strips of kevlar reinforced leather with appropriately sized and spaced holes attached to the inside, covering the metal surrounds but allowing the laces to move freely. Ask your cobbler to attach the strips using rocking horse poop and left handed screwdrivers. You must then also lubricate the laces with nothing other than coconut oil for fear
Seriously though, there is no real way to prevent this short of covering the eyelets or the tongue, which is less than desirable in my book Altering the way that you lace your boots may help a little, but realistically the tongues are going to get marked and scarred. On the upside, this is actually one of the functions of the tongue - to protect your socks and leg from such nasties as the inside of the eyelets and the laces.

Gonna pull the trigger on these, too good of a price to pass on.
I particularly like that it's a cap toe and a seasonal model that's not going to be available after.
This makes it a little more rare compared to the ubiquitous standard 1K model.
From my time spent searching, there's actually very little info regarding this McClean on the internet. - It's not even listed on Wolverine's site.
From what I've read and seen these boots seem to fit a little smaller than regular 1K model, specifically the toe box is a bit smaller/narrower.
Prob gonna order 2 pairs too, 8.0 and 8.5 and return the one that doesn't fit.

You know the Js gotta stay crispy in VNDS condition. It's not some fresh pair of Nikes and Jordans you want to keep like they're out of the box, man.
They will show signs of wears. They are work boots. Even my other dress and casual shoes/boots show signs/patinas that I grew to like, be it shell or calf.
Don't know whose they are, but someone had some Addisons resoled by Brian the Bootmaker and they look cool.
Not sure how kosher hot-linking from his host is, so I won't, but it's fairly easy to find his latest work in any BtB thread, his instagram, or google.
