I think it would look pretty good on the right outfit.

That KW is grievously mislabeled. It is very much a purple tie in real life. Still a very nice tie...just a bit harder to work with. By coincidence, I'm wearing it right now. Also by coincidence, I had already taken a WAYWRN picture.

Please note, I am not submitting this for its good taste, merely to elucidate on the color of the tie:

That looks more like a claret or a gamay than a burgundy.

I'd say gamay is a good description. I have a wine Drakes and it's definitely closer to burgundy than the KW.

I have been on the lookout for a med to dark gray knit tie for a similarly colored linen suit. However, I dislike shine, so that has kept me away from the cheapies and commonplace 'wet' silk. If anyone knows of (an affordable) matte option, I'd be curious. Considering a wool knit just for the color, despite the non-summery fabric.

No thanks. For total fora disclosure I opted for the shepherds check. Thanks Gshen.

Also I might commission a totally unlined black linen suit for when I go to Cambodia. Will wear with white t shirts underneath. Very un-style forum

That actually sounds pretty nifty though. An interesting take on a black suit. I wonder how well it would translate into citywear (unusually, I imagine)

I wouldn't wear it to work. A summer "going out" suit really. My hipster friends said I was lacking black in my wardrobe and if I wanted to stay on the board of hipsters I needed to find room for more black.

Please PM Tira. He said that MC had no hipsters.
