white (salt?) stains on shirt underarms

Anyone get these? Not yellow or dark but light and whitish. I am thinking it's salt from perspiration but I am not sure. I have tried white wine vinegar and also tried oxyclean but they still reappear. I don't put my shirts in the dryer so I am hoping the stains are not set. Any ideas on how to safely ditch these stains would be appreciated.

Probably some sort of aluminum salts from antiperspirant/deodorant.

Other chime in with other remedies. You have tried the ones I know.

Excuse me for being brash here, but what the hell are you doing in your clothes?

The only time I've ever seen something like this happen was when I was down at beautiful Ft. Benning, and even then only when we were busting our asses in that sun in the same uniform for a few days.

Yup, I have the same problem. I don't think you can avoid it. You're doing the right thing by air-drying your shirts, though. Do you wear an undershirt? That might help a bit, as well.
